Hunan Xiangtou Lightweight Material Technology Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as "Xiangtou Light Materials") is a high-tech enterprise under Hunan Xiangtou Holding Group, a large state-owned backbone enterprise in Hunan Province. The company was founded in 2000 (formerly known as Hunan Jintian Aluminum Industry High tech Co., Ltd.) with a registered capital of 106.2 million yuan. The company is mainly engaged in the research and development of new materials, new technologies, new processes, and new products for high-performance Light metal materials, composites, and other high-end equipment fields such as transportation equipment, engineering machinery, oil and gas exploration and production, aerospace, and defense and military industry.

In 2016, the high-end transportation equipment lightweight project was launched, taking the lead in the world in using powder metallurgy technology to prepare aluminum based brake discs for urban rail trains and new energy passenger cars.

Lead the drafting of the group standard "Performance Requirements and Test Methods for Aluminum Matrix Composite Brake Discs for Electric Passenger Vehicles" by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, laying the foundation for the technology and standards of aluminum matrix composite brake discs in the field of electric passenger vehicles.
